Early in my career, I recognized my passion for empowering women to speak up, to act – even when it isn’t the majority view – as long as it aligns with their values and makes good business sense. Seeing small, positive changes in their behavior energizes me to continue each and every day.

About the Author

Over the course of her storied career, Joyce has embraced risk and traveled the world through her many roles with Northern Trust, including those of Chief Risk Officer and President of Operations and Technology. Proud to work for a leader in diversity and inclusion, Joyce mentors women to be fearless, talk about their accomplishments and create a personal brand. Joyce was appointed by President Obama to the Advisory Committee of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation and contributes her immense leadership talents by serving on multiple nonprofit and university boards.
