Petra’s Words of Wisdom

As the head of the German International School Chicago, I celebrate our students’ education in a culturally diverse and supportive community by being open- and internationally-minded — and leading by example. I believe in making a true effort toward reaching your goals and [finding the] perseverance to achieve them. As a positive role model, I support students to become well-rounded, creative, responsible and tolerant global citizens.

About the Author

Petra is dedicated to providing a world-class education in a diverse and inclusive learning environment. A start-up school just a few years ago, GISC has grown rapidly under Petra’s leadership and recently achieved International Baccalaureate World School status, meaning teachers and students gain the outlook to succeed in their local and global communities as part of a truly global network. A native of Austria, Petra herself has traveled and taught all over the world. When not administering or fundraising, she spends time underwater as a recreational and rescue scuba diver.
