Carol’s Words of Wisdom

I love news.

And have loved it since I was a kid, grabbing my father’s editions of the Chicago Daily News, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago American.

That love of reading and learning about the news led to a career in it. In this work, I learn something new every day. It’s been a nonstop graduate course in life.

And along the way, I’ve held a few lessons close. Among them, my mother’s keen insight years ago that you never forget who your girlfriends are. Because they will level with you, save you, and celebrate with you. The boyfriends of our youth will come...and go. But girlfriends are forever.
