Julia’s Words of Wisdom

As a former Java developer – and the mother of three girls – I’m deeply passionate about getting more women to pursue STEM careers.

When I took over as CEO of ITA, I decided to take initiative and do all that I can to improve gender equality in the workplace.

From a job shadow day aimed at young girls, to the development of best practices for tech companies, we are pushing our community forward.

About the Author

A force for change throughout her career, Julia is at the helm of ITA, the leading voice for Chicago’s tech community. She started Women Influence Chicago to make the city the preeminent tech ecosystem for women (with fair pay) and launched programs to bring STEM education to underserved communities. With Chicago just second to Silicon Valley in terms of investment funding, Julia also endeavors to support tech startups and promote the city as a desired destination for companies and diverse talent.
